BetOnline is one of the most well-known cryptocurrency betting sites. It features good odds and is fun to play. The casino site is limited in what it has to offer but does feature fun games like Yahtzee. It accepts all kinds of crypto, so you aren’t limited to just Bitcoin casinos. It has had trouble with its Live Casino in the past but has worked to put that behind them.
But overall, this is a decent crypto casino with a few bad marks that fit into our BetOnline review.
BetOnline has two welcome bonuses – one for people who make deposits with their credit card and one who uses any of the cryptos they accept. If you use Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, or Ripple you will get a 100% matching bonus on your first deposit up to $1,000. If you use your credit card you will only get a 50% matching bonus on your first withdrawal up to $1,000.
With both bonuses, you will have to play your money through 14 times before you can withdraw it. If you use crypto you will also get 35% in matching funds on every deposit you make in the future.

Usability, Look & Feel
BetOnline has a simple feel to it. It uses crisp colors to show off exactly what they have to offer. You can easily navigate through what you are looking for and find the type of bet you want to make.
Their casino is another story. It is all glitz and flashing lights. This shows that BetOnline is trying to make the most out of both markets. The casino end is still a work in progress but on the sports end, they certainly get the look and feel right. While the simplicity of the sportsbook design may be a turn off at first, as you bet there, you’ll see exactly what an advantage it is. All of this goes into our BetOnline review which is mostly positive.
Crypto & Fiat Payments
BetOnline is entirely centered around using cryptocurrency. If you use Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, or Ethereum you will pay no fees for either your deposit or withdrawal. If you use any other form of payment you will get stuck into the trap of fees. The fees are variable but at a minimum are $20 per transaction.
The maximum fees you’ll have to pay for a transaction are well over $100. And the minimums for non-crypto are also insane – for example, if you want to send them a wire transfer or get a wire transfer for your withdrawals the minimum of $1,000. We take this into account when we write our Nebula review as well as our BetOnline review.
We should note that the biggest negative is not having a live chat link. They do have telephone support which is nice and better than nothing but still is not as easy to use as live chat would be. They also have a general email you can use or dedicated emails for their sportsbook and live casino.
Still, in our BetOnline review, we have to take them down a bit for not having live chat – the medium most online gamblers are used to. Their phone service was pretty good and while it took over an hour for them to respond to our emails, they were at least helpful.
License & Security
BetOnline is licensed by the country of Panama. That’s a step up from other casinos that are not licensed anywhere. You know the games are not rigged and have gone through the Panamanian licensing review.
They have top-level encryption enabled on their site. This earns them high marks in our BetOnline review. They seem to take their license and their security seriously and it shows. You can feel safe about spending money at BetOnline.
Rewards & Loyalty Program
BetOnline has a VIP program. The way it works is that you collect points you can then exchange for cash, physical prizes, or entry into special tournaments. The various prizes are not as good as they are at some online gambling sites but at least they are in place.
While some people have reported there to be some challenges in exchanging their points for goods overall the feedback seems to be mostly positive. We give mid-level marks to the sportsbook in our BetOnline review, just like in our Betwinner review.
That’s a pretty comprehensive number of things to bet on. Futures and props are the one thing that sets BetOnline apart and we’d like to see more casinos get in on that action. While they could offer a few more sports the mix they have will probably be good enough for 95% of people looking for an online sportsbook. BetOnline.ag is legit. BetOnline.ag is safe. BetOnline.ag withdrawal works. BetOnline.ag deposit works. We did a BetOnline.ag test and it worked out fine.
Their odds are somewhat middle of the road. On some bets, they offer much better odds than other online sportsbooks. On other bets, they offer considerably worse odds than other sportsbooks. This all averages out to an ultimately fair sportsbook and is graded in our BetOnline review positively.
One note about their odds. You cannot set up a parlay, where you bet on both teams in a single match to win. If you are discovered doing this both bets will be cancelled, and the casino will keep your money. We are not sure how to factor this into our BetOnline review.
Live Betting & Streaming
When it comes to live streaming BetOnline has you covered. An amusing note – during the coronavirus lockdown, BetOnline accepted a bet on a beer pong tournament and live-streamed the entire thing. That’s the level of dedication you will see at BetOnline and plays a huge factor in our BetOnline review.
You can also use the live streaming to place bets during games, live. We should say, however, that the number of live betting options during a game is considerably lower than at other sites. This may be simply because they want to keep the site simple to operate or it may be because they don’t have enough oddsmakers. Either way, we downgrade them a bit in our BetOnline review for it. They could put a bit more effort into this side of sports gambling.
That said the vast majority of people are not betting on live games. Most people before the game begins to pick who they would like to win, lay down their bet and then wait for the game to happen. If that’s you then the option of whether or not you can bet on the first player to make a goal halfway through a game won’t matter all that much to your playing style.
Product Summary & Conclusion
BetOnline sportsbook appears to be fair and tries to help out the customer as much as they can. We like the number of games you can live stream and the fact that they tried to have fun during the coronavirus lockdown with special events that other sites didn’t even try to cover. That goes a long way in our BetOnline review.
There have been no major scandals on the sportsbook side of BetOnline. (This is not true of their casino, but we’ll get to that in a minute.) They seem to want to do their best to offer a fair gambling experience with fairly decent odds. When you add in that they can accept crypto that goes a long way and is why our BetOnline review is mostly positive. Yes, they can do some work on some areas of their offering but seem to have earned their place at the top of what you can get from an online sportsbook. You could do a lot worse than BetOnline. And you’ll see that reflected in our BetOnline review.
We are going to start our BetOnline casino review with the elephant in the room. On February 18, 2017, a BetOnline.ag scam was uncovered. A video from their live casino showed a dealer swapping out his down card for another one. It was then determined that this was done to cause the dealer to win and all of the players at the table to lose.
This caused a huge uproar in the online casino community. BetOnline investigated and determined that the third party offering their live casino – Global Gaming Labs – was at fault. They terminated their relationship with that company and now their live casino is offered by Visionary iGaming as their third-party partner for their live casino. We’ll never know exactly what happened, but this does have a lasting effect on our BetOnline review.
That said, given that BetOnline has always shown themselves, to be honest in every other respect we have to assume that it was a problem with the third party and perhaps an inept dealer. Still, it is something to think about when you are visiting the BetOnline casino.
Other than the live casino the provider for BetOnline is Betsoft. Of the video slots offered, there are only 19 available. The casino does not tell you what the top 10 video slot machines are – probably because there are so few of them to make the number meaningless.
Where the BetOnline casino shines is in the games it offers that no other casino has – dominoes, Yahtzee, Gin Rummy, Spades, and Tonk. Seeing something original going on at an online casino makes us happy and is one reason our BetOnline casino review is not entirely negative.
They also offer 20 types of video poker. This is great for people who aren’t ready to go into a poker room yet but want to hone their skills. Most of the video poker options are variations of five-card draw. All are well done with the most modern graphics available.
Then there are the table games. You have roughly a dozen to choose from and they are pretty much the standard games of animated blackjack, roulette, etc…. There has never been any controversy about these games, and we assume there are all fair and that none of the odds are rigged.
And then there is the live casino. We don’t know what to say about it. They have five games offered. We assume that since the scandal they have put many more security protocols into place. They have not had a problem with their licensing since they canceled their old third-party provider. Since people around the world have kept a close eye on the company since that happened, we have to assume that it is not free from scandal. Still, we’d be wary of their live casino options. You can easily find a site without any controversy over their live casino.
Product Summary & Conclusion
Their casino is an OK experience. They seem to have the casino set up as a side trip for gamblers to make bets while they are waiting for their games to start. If they were primarily a casino and not a sportsbook, we would expect more. In our BetOnline review as well as our bitcasino.io review, we downgrade them a bit for not having a more expansive casino; we can’t knock them about too much.
Also, since the live casino scandal involved a third party, we don’t think we can slam them too much for that. Yes, they should have vetted the provider more, but it simply could have been one bad apple at that provider. Since nothing has been reported like this before or since we are going to give BetOnline the benefit of the doubt.
BetOnline is a great sports betting site. It’s been around forever and knows exactly what it is doing. The odds are fair and their site is simple to use and easy to navigate. Their casino option is not as good. It has few games and has been plagued by a scandal with its live casino. While they may have fixed that scandal it still haunts them, and they don’t seem to have put as much effort into their casino since. If you are just going there for the sportsbook you can pick up a great bonus and have lots of fun.
